grandly. is a free, not-for-profit listing of castles, manors, mansions and country estates for sale in Great Britain, and a sister site to formerly.uk. It is run by Tanya Park, who is responsible for the personal information described here. You can contact her at hello@grandly.uk.

The weekly email

If you sign up for the weekly email, we hold:

• your email address
• basic delivery records, such as whether an email was delivered

We use your address only to send you the weekly email you asked for. Our lawful basis is your consent, which you give when you subscribe and confirm your address by clicking the link we send you.

The mailing list is run for us by Buttondown, which stores your address and sends the emails on our behalf (Buttondown's privacy policy). Buttondown is based in the United States, so your address is stored outside the UK under safeguards approved for international transfers.

Alongside your address, Buttondown records which of the sign-up boxes on the site you used and, if you arrived through one of our own links, where that link was (for example, Bluesky). We use this only to see which parts of the site bring in subscribers.

We never sell, share or rent your address, and we never use it for anything else. We keep it until you unsubscribe, which you can do at any time with the link at the bottom of every email.

Reporting a listing

If you use Report on a listing, we store the listing, the reason you chose and any note you write. We do not ask for your name or email, so please do not put personal details in the note. Reports are kept until we have dealt with them, and for a short while after as a record.

Visiting the website

The website does not use advertising or tracking cookies. It remembers whether you prefer the grid or list view, in your own browser only.

To see how many people visit, we use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which does not use cookies or identify individual visitors; it counts page views, the referring site, country and device type. When you arrive through one of our own links (from the email or a social media post), the site also adds one to a daily tally for that source, such as "Bluesky". That tally holds no information about you: no IP address, cookie or identifier. In the same way, when you follow a link through to a listing on Zoopla, the site adds one to a daily count for that listing, so we can see which houses interest people.

Like any website, it has to be delivered to you. It is hosted by Cloudflare, whose systems briefly process your IP address to deliver pages and protect the site from attack. The typefaces are loaded from Google Fonts, which also receives your IP address when the page loads.

Your rights

You have the right to see the information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, and to withdraw your consent at any time. To do any of these, email hello@grandly.uk.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Listings

Each house on grandly. links to its advert on Zoopla. We are not an estate agent and we do not handle enquiries or sales. Any information you give an agent is held by that agent under their own privacy policy.
